I guess since the last one was moved to the archive, it's time for a new one.

The AFL started Tuesday and Peoria won 5-2

    Asche 0/4 2 K
    Joseph 1/3 1 RBI 1 BB
    Collier 2/4 1 R 1 RBI 1 K

    Wednesday's game

    Peoria @ Surprise 3:35 PM

Seeing how Asche works, he's start adjusting mid way through.
    Ricky Jordan on Kyle Kendrick:

But the simple fact of the matter is we would not have made the playoffs in 2007 without him. There is just no way to argue with that.

Asche is awesome. Good to see he's progressing so fast through the minors, that's nice to see since he was a college guy.

I like Franco more than Asche for the future. I wish both of them were actually closer though.

BTW look for the Phillies to look at adding Bob Engle and Patrick Guerrero to their scouting/player development staff. Mariners let both go and both have big ties to Pat Gillick.
Rob Neyer - Just finished Bill James' new book about famous crimes. It might be his best work.

Me - @robneyer What was Jack the Rippers WAR?

    Goodbye CVN-65

I didn't know about their connections to Gillick. The Mariners do a good job when it comes to international signings, so they could both probably be nice additions to an organization.

    Peoria lost 8-4

    Asche 2/3 1 R 2 2B 1 RBI 1 BB

    Johnson .1 IP 2 H 1 ER 0 BB 1 K (fastball seems to be 88-91 with a 78-81 slider)
    Shreve 1 IP 1 H 0 R 0 BB 0 K (fastball 90-92, cutter 86-90)
    Knigge 1 IP 0 H 0 R 0 BB 1 K (fastball 95-97, 82-83 slider)

    Thursday's game is v Phoenix at 3:35

I think it's a hitter league because a lot of good hitters are sent there.
