Make a shitty trade and people shrug it off as needing to rid the team of two years of "bad" contract. Make no moves at the draft and it's all because Holmgren ****ed you with bad contracts. Fail to do jack **** on Free Agency Frenzy and it's because Holmgren ****ed you with bad contracts. You get a pass for at least two more years, and then when money becomes available you can make some moves. If it works out, you're a hero. If it doesn't, it's still because Holmgren ****ed you over.

Do people really think this? Saw it on psf. I think they have a pretty decent young core up front, don't see why all of a sudden they are going to "blow"

And the East really isn't that good. It was West > East going into this offseason to begin with and the West got even stronger today. Flyers will at least be competitive, mid-seed likely if Giroux stays consistent and perhaps Schenn has the breakout year they're banking on.

When guys like David Bolland get 5/27.5, not being players in free agency isn't the worst thing in the world.

The bottom line on Hextall and his frugal approach to running the team (yes, we all know he has no ability to spend right now, you don't need to point that out), is that if after the next two-three years this team still is bowing out in the playoffs with no cups, no one is going to give a **** if the Flyers have a new approach.

Sure there will still be those who blame Homer for the next decade, but Hextall needs to realize that this team hasn't won a cup on 40 ****ing years. He's the GM. He took the job knowing the situation. There's only so long fans are going to watch him run the same team out there.
